Ram Off-Road Park

by Judy Turner

Saturday April 9th eight jeeps met at Del Camino and drove to Ram Off Road Park, a private OHV park east of CO Springs. With us were Vic and Debbie, Gregg, Richard, Gene, Ray and Wanda, Jamie and Lillie and Bill and Linda. Plus Darrel and Judy.

It was fun to try out our jeeps on the many challenges. We crawled over them one by one. Nothing like the racers who cover the obstacles at what seems like highway speeds. It was a great learning experience for newer jeepers who were unsure of just what their jeep could do, with the right spotter. Only once did we pull out the winch cable but I'm not telling for who.

Because the wind was blowing thirty to thirty-five miles an hour we ate in Darrel's jeep trailer. All the comfort of home, well all most.

The best part was when one had enough hill climbing you could just load up and go home there wasn't four more hours of trail to do before the highway. We loaded up at about 3:00pm and headed our separate ways home. I think it was a good day no one broke and we weren't stuck on a trail some where.
